It all started with a dream to pursue creativity

I spent a long time avoiding art. On a whim, I bought a wheel, and that’s when things started to flourish. Three years later, I have a little studio in my backyard where you will catch me blasting bluegrass and completing lots of experiments.

I hand paint and carve much of my pottery, and each piece is unique. I love experimenting with different styles and surfaces.

Lately, I’ve been especially drawn to nerikomi, a technique where different colored clays are layered and patterned together before the piece is even formed. Instead of decorating the surface afterward, the pattern runs all the way through the clay.

In the daytime, I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, and gardening. My work in inspired by places I’ve been and flowers I’ve picked.
